OUR PROCESS
We've developed a process for creating websites that allows for flexibility and focus. We are able to reconsider the specifications for a web site design at key stages, and to keep the overall aims of the website in mind, rather than dealing with web design or coding in isolation. Here's how it works:
Meeting
We meet with you to determine how your business or organisation can most benefit from using the web and other online marketing channels. From these meetings we generate a proposal and costs.
Planning
We plan the project, developing a technical outline, a project plan with timelines and a copy and image brief.
Collecting Content
From the copy & image brief we collect and create content. This step ensures a set of well-thought out and well-written copy documents and the raw images that we want to use on the site.
Website Architecture
Based on the content that is going to go on the site, we develop wireframes - unstyled layouts - that show how key pages are going to handle the content. We take you through the wireframes and get your approval.
CMS setup + Look & Feel
This step handles two pieces of work synchronously. We set up the Content Management System to handle the content as laid out in the wireframes. At the same time, we develop the look & feel - we style the wireframes, applying colour and texture. At the end of this step we show you JPEGs of key pages on the site for approval, and we have a test site set up.
Skinning the Test site
Now we apply the look & feel to the test site, making the navigation, buttons and text styles look right and work properly.
Implementation
In this last step we place the copy on the relevant pages, editing it further if necessary, and we place the correctly styled images. At this stage we also build any Flash components and create any complex graphics like maps and graphs.
