What is a Site Map

A site map is a page that lists all of the other pages on the website. Here are two possible reasons for having a site map on a website - and one explanation of why this site doesn't have a site map:

Google

Search Engines like Google love to follow links. Having a page with links to all of the pages on the site gives Google a quick and simple overview of what the site structure looks like. In specific circumstances it can help to get a site indexed on Google faster and more frequently.

Site Depth

Sites with very complex structures, or with many levels of pages, can benefit from a Site Map in that it allows users of the site to see the full range of pages.

Why doesn't this site have a Site Map?

We take each website we build on its own merits. If it needs a site map, we'll give it a site map, but we won't make a site map just because "all websites should have a site map". Our website is only 2 levels deep, and all pages are shown in the navigation. This means that Google can get a quick overview, and there aren't any hidden pages that users need to view through a site map.

So we don't have a site map.
